Activate Apple CarPlay and Android Auto via SD card on compatible Volkswagen MIB2 headunits. Installation takes around 10 minutes and enables full wired smartphone connectivity, voice control (in supported regions), and the optional performance monitor feature.

Select Software Update / Versions
Locate Installed SW Train Version
Step 2
Check that your SW Train Version looks like one of these examples:
- MST2_EU_VW_PQ_P0xxxT
- MST2_EU_VW_ZR_P0xxxT
- MST2_EU_VW_PxxxxD
- MST2_EU_VW_ExxxxD
- MST2_EU_VW_KxxxxD
Where x can be any digit.
Step 3
Check the number of SD card slots on your headunit:
- If your unit (with navigation) has 2 SD card slots — compatible ✅
- If your unit has 1 SD card slot — not compatible ❌
If you have 1 slot but your infotainment has the App-Connect function, and your software version ends with the letter D, then this SD card will work.

Once activated, the SD card becomes permanently linked to your vehicle’s headunit and cannot be reused or returned. Please verify compatibility before purchase or contact us for assistance.

Game changer
Initially I was hesitant to buy as did not want to cause an issue with the car software but eventually took the dive and could not be more impressed!
