I did have a bit of a problem with the installation in that the activation seemed to fail, wanting me to abort, which was a little worrying as the instructions emphasise not turning things off part way through, which I had to do. Emailing for help resolved the issue - it appears that the activation had in fact worked - and so far the update seems fully operational and as I hoped.
